Hidden Offers, Discount Deals From the Inside
You might not have thought, but there's always a piece of the large pie that lies unseen - the offers hidden from most potential buyers. Part of the iceberg is in the water, you know, and that's the same with last minute discount deals too.
These offers are limited, are sold in small numbers. They are the last seats, the unsold cruise cabins, the cars that haven't been rented and so on.
These deals are sometimes published on sites, sometimes advertised, but often they're rather hidden from the eyes of the wide public!
Instead of launching major advertising campaigns, the agents, airlines, cruise lines etc. utilize the remaining unsold services to improve their relations with previous buyers, loyal clients and members.
Here's how...
Serious travel agents have client databases, details of registered members with accounts or at least, the agents possess e-mail address lists. These are the potential buyers whom they "attack" first with their last minute offers. The merchants will contact these "inner groups", the members, previous clients who had previously purchased from them.
The trick is: these persons are more likely to buy again and they are easier to contact, somewhat closer to the agents.
Also, advertising late deals would be a major marketing effort and might even harm the listed "usual" prices. Less people would pay for the usual price (which are higher), because they'd learn to buy last minute deals - if these were made public to everyone!
So, the inner circle thing pays off pretty well for the companies who practice it.
Once you're on a list, after you've opened an account, you are among those likely to receive last minute offers "from the inside".
Joining some sort of an online travel community might be a good idea for start. Even joining travel guide portals can help, but consider connecting with airlines, hotel reservation platforms, cruise lines, car rental agencies, travel agencies etc.
Still, you will find loads of genuine last minute offers, given wide visibility, published on a variety of travel websites. Airlines and hotel chains are among the ones selling such offers and making them known to the wide public.
