Budget Travel Tips & Advice
We serve the last minute and the budget travel segment as well. While the last minute segment contains luxury and business travel, budget travel is oriented towards the economy and low-budget travelers.
Here on this page we'll focus more on obtaining budget travel services, the ones aimed at backpackers and other economy travel junkies.
We'll also take a glimpse at when it's best to search for last minute offers and it would also be a great idea for you to combine late booking with budget travel.
When to Search for Last Minute Deals?
Generally the end season brings many discounted offers, but if there is any reason for low demand, then be on the lookout for falling tariffs.
We've created a humble graph back a few years ago on the distribution of last minute opportunities throughout a calendar year. Based on calculations and years of experience, the graphic would look like this:
What we've taken into account: the abundance of late offers (intensity of the market), the dimensions of the price drops.
Visibly, the darker periods are when it's best to purchase your travel services at last minute. During these intervals the demand is low and agents are forced to shrink prices as well.
There are 2 major periods noticeable:
Summer End Season Period
Less people take on journeys towards the end of the summer and towards the beginning of autumn. There's a plethora of promotional offers then in case of hotels especially, but also in other branches.
The second half of August and the whole month of September are ideal for enthusiastic budget travelers to hunt for affordable priced services.
Pre-winter Holiday Period
About 1-2 weeks before the Christmas - New Year period you will find an avalanche of late offers. Flights, hotels are among the most discounted services. Less people will leave for journeys during this winter period and, most of them will travel home in order to celebrate.
A good idea would be to check out a specialized last minute trip package. But you'll have to be quick. At least 2-3 days in advance, or "your fish will swim away".
Winter Post New Year's Day Period
This period lasts from New Year's Day through the first 2-3 weeks of January. Of course, the best part within this interval is the 1st week. Then, the least people travel during the whole calendar year. Late offers might be great bargains, while most people will be tired, exhausted, busy or relaxing following the frenetic New Year celebrations, you might be in for grabbing mega bargains!
